Inishowen records lowest rate of children vaccinated

Inishowen has recorded the lowest level of children vaccinated against Covid-19.

New figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) have revealed that just the Primary Course Completed rate in  five to eleven year olds is just 4 percent in Buncrana and Carndonagh – the lowest rate in the country.

The county also recorded the second lowest number of children in that age group who have been vaccinated to date in the Lifford Stranorlar area with just 6 percent of children vaccinated.

Elsewhere in Donegal, Milford, Glenties and Donegal recorded a vaccination rate of nine percent while the highest rate in the county was 15% of children in Letterkenny.

Commenting on the Bulletin, Steven Conroy, Statistician, said, “The Primary Course Completed rate for children aged 5 to 11 ranged from a low of 4% in Donegal’s Buncrana and Carndonagh to a high of 55% in Stillorgan, Dublin, which had not significant changed from November.

“The rates for Booster 1 ranged from 37% in Buncrana to 76% in Rathfarnham-Templogue,” said Mr Conroy.
