Inishowen musician pens anthem for Mica campaign

SINGER David Craig has used his considerable music talents to support the Mica crumbling block campaign.

The Inishowen songwriter put pen to paper and came up with the (Crumbling) Homes of Donegal – a take on the classic Irish folk tune ‘The Homes of Donegal’.

In it David highlights the plight of those living in Mica homes and the struggles they face on a daily basis.

In lyrics that will resonate loudly with many, the song include the lines: “Myself and my wife, we worked all our lives for a house now worth nothing at all/I know it’s not right, we can’t sleep at night in my home in Donegal…”

David released the song ahead of two planned protests this weekend – one in Buncrana and a second in Letterkenny.

Campaigners say they want 100 per-cent redress for their homes and that the 90 per-cent they have been offered is unacceptable.
