ST Eunan’s College was the venue on Friday last as the class of 1966- 71 finally got to hold their reunion, which was postponed due to Covid-19.
Eunan Gallagher (Carrigart) led the team of Eamon Mc Nulty, John Boylan and Denis Mc Caffrey as they gathered past pupils from afar: Paddy Hegarty (San Francisco), Seamus Diver (New York), Martin Sweeney, who completed a long cycle run from southern Germany to attend the reunion, and all parts of Ireland Michael Crossan (Waterford), Brian Mc Nelis (Cork), Tommy Keane (Westport), Kieran Reid (Kildare) Bertie Cunningham (Galway) Sean Mc Fadden (Roscommon) and Declan Gallagher (Leitrim).
Fr. Padraig O’ Baoill celebrated Mass where the deceased members of the class were sadly remembered and happier times were recalled when they were all together.

Kieran Reid, Brian McNelis, Brendan Delap and Seamus Quinn.
Denis Mc Caffery put a lot of effort into making a collage of all the deceased classmates, which was poignant and thought provoking. It was placed in front of the altar. At the end of Mass, the men gave a whole hearted rendition of the Alma Mater anthem, ably led by Frank Galligan.

The College tour was hosted by Edward Harvey to the enjoyment of all. Memorabilia were on display especially Denis Mc Caffery’s collection of programs of operas and many other events.

The class reconvened to the Mount Errigal Hotel, where a sumptuous dinner was enjoyed by all. The evening was made memorable with the after dinner speaker Frank Galligan, who was in his element with a wealth of charm and wit to finish off a great day.

The group really enjoyed their day and proceeded to make a generous donation towards the scholarship Fund. They were delighted with the development of the College.
