FINN Harps goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher has kept three clean sheets in his last three outings, and he is hoping to continue that good streak towards the end of the season.
Gallagher boasted 17 clean sheets in 2015, as Harps earned promotion to the Premier Division.
His record hasn’t been as impressive this term, but he has still had nine shut-outs, and only Shelbourne and Drogheda United have conceded less goals.
However, the 26-year-old feels that they could have been better defensively, and he is hoping to maintain their improvement over the coming weeks, starting with the clash against Shelbourne tonight.
“It’s nice to get a wee run of clean sheets because we haven’t had as many as we would have liked this season.
“We conceded a lot of goals in the couple of games before the break and that was something that we wanted to improve on.
“It’s a starting point, and that has always been the aim to try and build on the clean sheets, and take it from there, but it’s not going to be an easy game.
“They have Davy Sullivan, who has always been a thorn in our side over the years when he was with Longford and Shelbourne.
“But it’s something we have to try and build on now, and keep it going.”
