‘I’m so proud that I had him for 22 years’

The heartbroken wife of the late Manus ‘Mandy’ Kelly has described him as a “devoted family man” and a “really special person”.

Courageous Bernie Kelly has paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband and father of five ahead of his month’s mind mass last Saturday.

The Glenswilly man, affectionately known as ‘King of the Hills’, was tragically killed in the third and final day of the Joule Donegal International Rally on Sunday, June 23, as he competed on the Fanad Stage.

Mr Kelly (41) was a renowned businessman, an accomplished sportsman, a charity supporter and had a promising career in local politics, having been elected to Donegal County Council in the Letterkenny Electoral Area as a Fianna Fáil councillor just four weeks before his untimely death.

He is most importantly, however, irreplaceable and sorely missed by his loved ones. Mrs Kelly spoke to the Donegal News from Tailored Facility Solutions (TFS), where Mr Kelly had been Managing Director.
