Several roads were partially blocked last night after trees and power-lines were blown down.

The iconic Great Oak tree at St. Eunan’s GAA club was blown down overnight as heavy winds battered the Ballymacool area of the town.

The ‘Big Tree’ has stood over much of the development around O’Donnell Park in recent years and had become a famous landmark at the sports facility.

Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to take care this morning with driving conditions still dangerous because of fallen debris.
