Hurlers have ‘a lot to fix’ – Mickey McCann

DONEGAL hurling manager Mickey McCann says his side have a ‘lot to fix’ before they play the Nickey Rackard Cup Final with Wicklow on June 3.

McCann’s charges booked their spot in the final with victory over Louth on Saturday.

However, there are some concerns arising from the match, especially as Declan Coulter went off with a nasty thumb injury.

Louth also helped themselves to four goals and Donegal are going to have to tighten up against a Wicklow side who they have already played twice this year (winning one and losing one).

The teams will meet again next week in the round-robin but that is now a dead-rubber, and there could be some shadow-boxing as both teams gear up for the date in Croker.

Donegal will have to tighten up defensively, and there will be plenty of work done on the training field in Convoy in the coming weeks.

“I am not sure how Louth got all that space and we will look at it on the video, but they did have space and I think our half forward line tired a bit too and their half backs went up attacking us. We just did not track them and they were very physical and good in the air and they go at you.”
