Hunt on for driver who rammed Garda patrol car

The unmarked Garda car that was rammed near Carrigart.

TWO Donegal Garda officers are recovering after being injured when their patrol car was rammed.

The incident occurred near Carrigart in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The officers, connected to Milford Garda Station, were on routine patrol when their unmarked patrol car was rammed multiple times.

The driver of the offending vehicle, a black Volkswagen Passat bearing the partial registration number 02-MH, then fled the scene and has not been caught.

Both officers were injured but did not require hospital treatment.

Appealing for information, a Garda spokesperson said, “We are seeking the public’s assistance in Carrigart and the greater area.

“If anyone has information regarding the incident gardai in Milford can be contacted on 074 9153060.”
