There is sadness across Donegal at the passing of beautiful Caitlin Strain. The brave nine-year-old from Burnfoot was the second youngest of five children.
She was diagnosed with a brain tumour in Letterkenny University Hospital on February 18 last year, just three days before her birthday which she celebrated in Temple Street Children’s Hospital surrounded by close family.
Her family and friends have since been fundraising tirelessly to help cover the costs of specialist treatment Caitlin had been receiving in Houston, Texas.
Caitlin will be missed dearly by her parents Thomas and Eimear Strain and her loving siblings, her sisters Maria, Danielle and Laura and her brother Michael. The family live in Burnfoot, although Eimear (née Gibson) is originally from St Johnston.
She will also be sadly missed by her grandparents Monica Gibson and Ann Strain, her uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.
Reposing at her home Sunday, 27 November from 4.00 pm. Family time from 11.00pm to 11.00am.
Caitlin’s Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday 29 November in St Aengus’ Church, Burt at 11.00 am followed by internment in St Mura’s Cemetry, Fahan.
