THE opening night of John B Keane’s ‘The Field’ in An Grianan Theatre on Wednesday, September 12 will go towards helping Glenswilly school complete work on their field.
At the launch in the Mount Errigal Hotel on Tuesday night, Letterkenny Pantomime Society announced their collaboration with the school fundraising committee to enable them to raise €60,000 to complete works on the field to create a car park and other amenities for Glenswilly Primary School.
School committee member Manus Kelly told the Donegal News this week that they had already raised €60,000 to purchase the field adjoining the school.
“We are delighted that the Letterkenny Pantomime Society have agreed to donate half of the proceeds of the opening night towards our efforts. We would encourage as many people as possible, parents and locals to come and support it.
“We would hope to get the work done in the field in the next month or two and have a target of three months to raise the €60,000 with other events and things planned,” Mr Kelly said.
The well-known drama group are staging the play at An Grianan Theatre from September 12 until 15.
