Donegal Fianna Fáil have met this week with Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien in Dublin for detailed discussions on the progress of the new Mica Scheme.
The meeting discussed the importance of a prompt transition from the outgoing scheme to the new one and the need to ensure that the regulations are practical and work for homeowners.
Minister O’Brien outlined that he has now concluded his engagement on the draft regulations with the four Local Authorities involved in administering the Scheme and will next week be commencing the homeowner engagement and consultation on the draft regulations.
He also outlined that he will be engaging with all political parties for their feedback on the draft regulations.
The meeting was attended by Minister Charlie McConalogue, Senator Niall Blaney and by Fianna Fáil Councillors from across the county.
Donegal Fianna Fáil strongly emphasised the need to progress the new regulations as quickly as possible and their absolute commitment to continuing to work to ensure the full delivery of an efficient Mica Scheme for homeowners.
