House contents sale to fund Canada move

A DRUMKEEN family who plan to emigrate to Canada, are selling the entire contents of their rented home next Sunday, in the hope of raising some much-needed funds.

One of the toughest aspects of their move will be finding a good home for Wags, their lovely, lively three-year-old Labrador who loves to play football.

Dee Brown’s husband Paul Gallagher is already working in Canada laying pipes, having secured a job at the Canada Expo in Dublin last year, which he started in March this year.
Now Dee and their four children Erin (16), Jordan (13), Conrad (6) and Regan (4) are planning to join him – in the hope of making a more secure future for their children.

Since the downturn, the family just found it more and more difficult to make ends meet and have taken the decision to emigrate as they do not see any potential upturn for them here.
Speaking to the Donegal News yesterday Dee said the way she and Paul looked at it is that they are both young enough, well enough and strong enough to do something to make life better for their children. Dee survived breast cancer and is determined to make the most of everyday.

“We cannot do it here. With cuts and more and more taxes it is just impossible to make ends meet and I am tired of constantly saying no to the children. I am the canniest shopper and don’t waste a cent but it’s just impossible.
