COMMUNITY Hospitals across Donegal are facing savage cutbacks. According to a leaked HSE document yesterday (Thursday), Lifford Community Hospital will be closed and other community hospitals will lose 16 beds.
Details of the closures and cutbacks were contained in a leaked HSE document. Earlier in the week Taoiseach Enda Kenny did not deny that they planned to close 42 hospitals throughout the country. Last year there was major campaign to save Lifford hospital from closure with more than 2,000 people taking to the streets in May 2010.
