Finn Harps boss Ollie Horgan is not surprised with how Longford Town have adapted to the top flight.
Longford caused a surprise when they won promotion through the play-offs last year but are favourites to drop straight back down again.
However, they have already shown what they can do by beating Derry City 2-0 at home, while they pushed reigning champions Shamrock Rovers all the way on Saturday before losing to a last minute goal.
“I didn’t think it would be any different for Longford. Daire Doyle did a mighty job in getting them up,” said Horgan.
“They are full of energy and they are full of legs and they have added a lot of quality players to their pack as well.
“The likes of Sam Verdon has played for us before and they were always going to be a handful.
“We didn’t need the warning signs of them losing in the 93rd minute in Tallaght to tell us.
“We watched them in Sligo two weeks ago and they were very unlucky to lose in a nothing game.
“They have been very competitive and it will be a serious test for us.”
