Homeowners granted permission to demolish ‘mica’ homes

FOUR applicants in Donegal have been granted planning permission to demolish and rebuild their mica affected homes. 
The homeowners applied to Donegal County Council in January 2022 to have their homes demolished and a replacement dwelling built on the same site.
One homeowner lodged the application for a dwelling in Monfad, Newtowncunningham on January 12 and the application includes connection to all existing service and site works.
Another homeowner in Glenallon Heights, Milford has been granted permission for demolition and the construction of a replacement dwelling with minor alterations to the elevations.
This application was submitted on January 18.
Two homeowners in Buncrana have been granted permission to tear down their homes and rebuild them again.
One of the Buncrana homes is in Kinnego Park, Cleenagh while the other is in Doonwood, Tullyarvan and both applicants include all associated site works.
Meanwhile, Donegal County Council have received a further three applications for demolition and rebuild during the week of February 28 and March 4 2022.
A decision is yet to be made on a mica affected house in Cruach Na Cille, Ballyraine Letterkenny.
The homeowner applied for planning permission on February 28 for demolition and the construction of a replacement dwelling with minor alterations.
Two homeowners in Bridgend applied for planning permission for demolition of their mica homes. A home in Carrowreagh, Bridgend is set to be demolished and the erection of a replacement dwelling.
In Bunnamayne, Bridgend a homeowner has applied for the demolition of their home and detached domestic garage and the construction of a replacement dwelling and garage.
