RESIDENTS of a Ballybofey housing estate are being urged to report any suspicious activity following the theft of home heating oil.
The move comes after gardaí received a report from a resident of Blue Cedars in relation to the theft of home heating oil from their tank.
The theft is believed to have occurred between Friday, January 24 and Saturday, February 1.
A garda spokesperson said: “The caller noticed that the cap from the oil tank was laying on the ground and he checked the tank to discover that it was almost empty.
“We appeal to other residents in that area to make contact with us if they observed any type of suspicious activity in the area between those dates. Gardaí in Letterkenny can be reached on (074) 9167100 with relevant information.”
