THOUSANDS packed The Diamond, Donegal Town last night (Monday) as Donegal’s first ever back-to-back Ulster Champions were given a hero’s welcome back to the county.
Jim McGuinness’s team created a little slice of history at St Tiernach’s Park in Clones yesterday afternoon as they beat Down by eleven points to ensure that the Anglo-Celt remains in the Hills for another 12 month

Leo McLoone scored a first-half goal and Frank McGlynn also found the net in the second-half to help steer delightful Donegal to a landslide 2-18 to 0-13 win that was one of the most emphatic ever win in an Ulster final.
“They have worked very hard for days like this,” team manager Jim McGuinness said of his players.
“They did something that we had our hearts set on doing – and we’re delighted, obviously, to have done that.
“They have put their own stamp on Donegal.”
