Deputy Joe McHugh, who is Co-Chairperson of the British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly, addressed the conference in Manchester on behalf of the government.
Speaking to the Donegal News on Wednesday, Deputy McHugh said he had pressed for pooling of public services and greater co-operation on a range of public services across ‘the island of Ireland’.
