Glenree 2-1 Lagan Harps (aet)
In a very exciting game in the U16 ulster cup final, it took Glenree 7 minutes to put the ball in the Lagan net, Glenree win a throw on the left side and Hannah Shiels passed to the unmarked Lauren Carr whose shot gave Lagan ‘keeper Neve Scanlon no chance. Play moved from end to end with Aine Dealsey coming close on 16 mins from a Lagan corner. Laura Dubera forces a fine save by Neve Scanlon on 20 minutes.
On 26 minutes Georgia Keys sent Bronagh Gallaghet through however Claire Friel saved well. With 10 minutes to go to half time, Shannon Cunningham dribbled into the box however was pushed, the resulting penalty was scored by Ciana Brogan.
Lagan could have extended the lead with 3 minutes to go in the first half after Ciana Brogan played in Bronagh Gallager who shot just wide. Second half was much the same with both defences making vital blocks and limiting players to long ranch shots.
Into extra time and after 3 minutes Thea Duffy crossed the ball to Caoimhe Herron who shot from 20 yards into the Lagan net. Lagan tried to equalise but there was no way past the excellent Niamh McDevitt and Siobhan Sweeney. Best for Lagan were Aoife Page, Chantel Kelly and Georgia Keys, with Siobhan Sweeney, Hannah Shiels, Eimear Sweeney playing well for Glenree, with player of the match going to Niamh McDevitt
