ATU Donegal 5 Queen’s University 2
Caoimhne Heron hit four goals as ATU Donegal ladies were crowned O’Regan Cup winners after a dominant win over Queen’s in Ray McSharry Park in Sligo.
Bríd McGinty’s side had the dream start with Keri Loughrey netting after 20 seconds but Queen’s hit back through Emily Johnson.
The Belfast side went ahead on the half an hour mark through Katie O’Hare but a good team move saw Bronagh Gallagher set up Caoimhne Heron to respond a minute later.
Heron got her second with a brilliant effort from 30 yards that went in off the bar a few minutes later as the ATU led 3-2 at the break.
A super run and pass from Loughrey got Heron in for her hat-trick and she got her fourth with 15 to play as she finished off a 1-on-1 on the counter.
