Helping neighbours keep fit

RESIDENTS of Meadowhill and Harmony Hill in Letterkenny are invited to come out into the fresh air on Monday evening and take part in a free fitness class.
The class at 7 pm in Harmony Hill is the initiative of local resident Klaudia Rogalla, a fitness instructor by profession, who works with personal trainer Aoifa McGill.

Speaking to the Donegal News this week Polish native Klaudia said with the relaxing of lockdown on Monday it would be lovely to gather together as neighbours, with social distancing and enjoy fresh air and some gentle exercise.

“After so many weeks of lockdown and isolation I really believe we need to gather together with a little bit of music and fresh air to lift everyone’s spirits. Fresh air and exercise really are the best medicine. So far around eight neighbours have confirmed they are joining us on Monday evening and I hope a lot more turn up. We have plenty of space to social distance and exercise. I plan to run the sessions for a couple of weeks as it will probably be August before gyms re-open and I go back to work. I would particularly encourage the older residents to join in. Who knows maybe other estates might do the same,” Klaudia said.

She added that the only thing residents need to bring is themselves. Klaudia followed her heart to Letterkenny seven years ago and before that lived in Dublin for ten years.
