Help wanted for big Rossnowlagh clean-up on Sunday

A major clean-up of Rossnowlagh Beach will take place next Sunday.

The clean-up, which is being organised by the Friends of Rossnowlagh group, is part of the nationwide Big Beach Clean initiative.

The Rossnowlagh event will be the first organised in Donegal, with more clean-up events planned for Buncrana, Portnoo and Falcarragh later this month.

A spokesperson for the Friends of Rossnowlagh group urged people to come along and help out at this weekend’s event.

“These national litter surveys help track the types and sources of rubbish washing up on Irish shores. That information feeds into campaigns, education, and policy for cleaner seas. Every piece we pick up tells part of the story – and every bag filled makes a difference.

“Our committee is only small – just 5 people – but with our energy, ideas, and your support, we’re making a real difference.”

The clean-up will start at the beach’s car park at 12 noon on Sunday
