Health and beauty: Valentine’s Day Beauty Tips

Valetine's Day

LOVE is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Whether you’re going out on the town or getting ready for a cosy night cuddling on the couch you’ll want to look your best. Here are a few tips to get you looking your best.

Plan ahead and get glowing. Organise a deep cleansing facial or glycolic peel to get your skin exfoliated, minimising pores and fine lines. Brighten your eyes by applying cucumber or used teabags from the fridge, these will leave your eyes refreshed and minimise puffiness dark circles.

Waxing – this is a quick and easy treatment to have. Get soft smooth legs, underarm and bikini line, you will feel so clean and fresh and skin is ready for that perfect glow. One or two days before Valentines get a manicure and pedicure.

Your nails do not have to be super long to look good, just make sure they are neat and trimmed and if you opt for a gel polish you will have a long lasting high gloss for weeks. Go for a red or deep pink polish. Remember your nails are always on show and cannot be hidden away.

If you are feeling like you need to reduce some bloating, have an Epsom salt bath. Add two cups of Epsom salt and relax for 10mins in it. The magnesium in the salt helps draw toxins and excess fluid from the body.

On day before Valentines exfoliate your body using exfoliating gloves and a scrub. The gloves make it much easier to reach every nook of your body. Remember to exfoliate hands and feet to get them really smooth for your tan. Apply moisturiser on dry areas such as the elbows, knees, ankles, hands and feet. Now you have silky, touchable skin for Valentine’s Day.

Apply an all over body tan to your silky soft skin. Treating yourself to a luxurious spray tan is one way to make sure you look your best this Valentines.
Everyone feels good, looks better and slimmer with a little bit of a golden glow.

There is no better way to get a healthy natural look than by getting a spray tan.

Lips- Exfoliate those dry winter lips using a gentle, soft toothbrush and treat them to a rich moisturising lip balm to hydrate them. For longer lasting lipstick, apply your foundation over your lips followed by translucent powder. For Valentines choose a bold red colour lipstick.
Use a red coloured lip pencil to create an outline and then fill in with your red lipstick. Blot with a tissue and apply another coat, now your kissable lips are ready to rock this Valentines.

Eyes and brows- Apply two coats of black mascara and when dry apply a few single eyelash extensions to the outer edges.
This will give an instant lift to the eyes and looking very natural compared to the full strip lashes. Fill in the brows with a shadow or pencil and comb through.

Hair- Visiting a salon before your big date can transform your look. Curls are very romantic; treat yourself to a curly blow dry, curls or a loose natural up style to finish your look this Valentines.

Scent– Choose an ultra romantic scent of florals or sweet aromas of vanilla and amber. Spray the fragrance on your pulse points (wrists, inner elbows, behind the ears, etc) for maximum effect.
