FROWN lines are facial wrinkles that appear between the eyes when a person frowns, or looks angry or concerned. These deep wrinkles or frown lines appear as a person ages plus years of making facial expressions combined with thinning skin all contribute to this.
Frown lines, which appear between your eyebrows, can make you look sad no matter how happy you are and they can also make you look quite tired even if you feel well rested.
Over time it makes a permanent crease which is very difficult to smooth out even with top quality creams. The most popular non-surgical treatment for frown lines is Botox where the solution is injected into the muscles to either freeze or slow down the muscles’ movement, which depends on the amount of solution given.
The Botox works by decreasing the muscle action therefore the skin smoothes out diminishing the deep lines. Overtime some clients become so accustomed to not using their forehead muscles that creases are minimised even further and will only need smaller doses.
The Botox can take several days before the full effect can be seen. The results can last for 3-4 months. Another non-surgical treatment is Fillers (hyalauronic acid) such as Juvederm and Restylane are injected into the frown lines and unlike botox it works instantly not freezing the muscle but plumping up the wrinkle. The results of this can last for nine to twelve months.
Many people choose to have their frown lines treated because of the expression it gives them as they can have people saying to them “What’s the matter?”
