GARDAI are appealing for the assistance of the public after a headstone on a grave was pushed over and damaged over the Christmas period.
The incident of criminal damage took place in the graveyard of St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill, Ballybofey, between 7am on Thursday, December 25 and 6.30pm on Sunday, December 28.
A garda spokesperson said: “A headstone on a grave to the rear of the Church was pushed over and damaged between those times. If anyone observed any type of suspicious activity in the area of the graveyard between those dates or if they can assist with relevant information, we ask them to contact Ballyshannon Gardaí on ( 071) 9858530.”
