Glencar Inn Saturday Division One
Kilmac win on the road
Donegal Town Reserves…………………..2
Kilmacrennan Celtic Reserves………….3
Donegal Town fell to a disappointing defeat at home to Kilmacrennan. Kilmacrennan dominated the opening half and a Mark Patterson double gave them a deserved two-nil lead. Town got one back on the stroke of Half-Time when a long pass from Killian Faulkner caused difficulty in the defence and Jamie Mc Monagle was on hand to knock home. Town were better in the second half with a Mc Monagle acrobatic effort and a long-range Corey Monaghan drive being their best efforts. Celtic wrapped it up in the 90th minute before Noel Gavigan got one back in injury time. Mc Monagle and Ryan Mahon were best for Town, Patterson and Conor Black impressed for the away team.
McGrath levels it
Drumbar FC……………….1
Oldtown Celtic………….1
Drumbar and Oldtown played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in a game played in perfect conditions. Drumbar started the brighter, taking control in the first half without managing to make their pressure count. The scores were level at the break. The second half started with both teams cancelling each other out with little activity in either goalmouth. Drumbar made the breakthrough on 61 minutes after great work from Eoghan Gallagher down the right-hand side, whose pinpoint ball delivery was headed home by Vini Breslin. Drumbar had more chances to extend the lead but couldn’t capitalise. This proved to be costly for the home side as Oldtown increased their pressure in the final 10 minutes, with Kevin Mc Grath finding the equaliser in the 88th minute after a scramble in the box.
Erne score seven
Glencar Celtic………………1
Erne Wanderers………….7

Fanad edge seven-goal tie
Fintown Harps AFC………………………..3
Fanad United Reserves………………….4
A tense first few minutes in this one, Harps having the better of the first ten minutes with efforts from Jamie Mc Monagle Quinn and Odhran Doherty coming close. Fanad took the lead against the run of play with a through ball from the left wing finding their striker Johnny Mc Ateer at the back post ghosting in and he taped it home.
Harps response was good with plenty of possession but not getting that final ball right. On 25 minutes a great kick over the top found Odhran Doherty on the overlap and he made no mistake from six yards out beating Moffitt in the Fanad goal with a low powerful strike.
Fanad were back in the game after a bad clearance from Bradley in the Fintown goal and Fanad regained the lead on 35 minutes with Alan Mc Ateer this time alert. Another disaster at the back with no communication between Fintown rear-guard and Fanad nick in to go 3-1 up with 40 minutes gone. Half time and Fanad have the two-goal advantage. 2nd half starts bright for Fintown with some good pressure and a good chance for Aaran Mc Glynn on 50 minutes. On 55 minutes Fanad went 4-1 up with a loose pass intercepted and Fanad punished by with Mc Ateer finding his range again. Fintown show great fight get one back with a great strike from Keelan Mc Monagle from midfield on 60 minutes. Fanad went down to ten men after two yellow cards were issue, a life-line maybe for Fintown. Fintown get a free on the edge of the centre circle and young Jamie Mc Monagle Quinn hits a Worldly into the top corner of the Fanad net leaving Ryan Moffitt stranded. Harps kept pushing to the final minutes but couldn’t get the equaliser with Fanad holding tight. Good game of football from both teams. Ref: Danny Doherty

Shay Callan-McFadden scored three for Ramelton Mariners in this match. Remy Moran, Joe Coll, and Ethan McAllister hit the net for Glenea.
Draw in Rosses derby
Keadue Rovers Reserves…………. 1
Arranmore United……………………1
It ended honours even in this tight fought Rosses derby at Central Park. Arranmore, with the aid of a stiff breeze had slightly the better of the opening exchanges. The visitors took the lead on fifteen minutes when a free kick delivered by Glenn O ’Donnell wasn’t dealt with by the home defence. The ball cannoned of Caelan Bonner and from the rebound captain Alan Stephenson knocked it in right footed from close range. Keadue responded well to the setback and started playing the better football after twenty minutes. After the twenty fifth minute, chances started to fall to Dima Serhievev and Liam Ferry, who were lively in the front area. Liam Boyle was also doing well in the Keadue midfield and his foray into the box on twenty-seven minutes led to a fine cross but Peadar Boyle in the Arranmore defence cleared the danger. Keadue’s midfield were getting a grip on the game and from set pieces, they were dangerous. Martin Ferry and Noah Boyle both fired over the bar five minutes from half time. The home side were the better team overall in the first half, despite the deficit at half time, having recovered well from going the goal down. In the second period, Keadue, with the aid of the wind, started brightly and forced several set pieces, which were well delivered and Dima Serhieiev was again close on fifty minutes, after Martin Ferry headed across the goal-line from a corner but Dan Mac A Bhaird in the visitors’ nets saved well. Keadue’s persistence eventually paid off when on fifty-six minutes, a delivery from Liam Ferry was put away from close range by Evan Mc Fadden after a scramble in the box. Soon after that, an effort from Liam Boyle was well saved. The game was played at a real good pace and both teams went at it in the last half hour, hoping for the win. Arranmore made a few substitutions and there was a slight bit more sharpness in their forward play with the Keadue defence having to be alert on several occasions. The home side had the majority of the possession but a well marshalled Arranmore back line, hit on the break well in the closing twenty minutes, with sub Paul Early’s shot hitting the side netting in the last few minutes. Keadue kept probing from set pieces and balls into the box but overall the second half lacked the chances of the first half and in the end a draw was a fair result in what was overall a good quality contest. Best for Arranmore were Glenn O’ Donnell, Peadar Boyle, Phil Boyle and Ben Gaughran, while best for Keadue were Liam Boyle, Dima Serhievev, Oisin McDowell and Liam Ferry. Referee: Seimi Ferry.

Drumoghill win again
Drumoghill F.C. Reserves…………5
Castlefin Celtic Reserves………….4
Drumoghill worked hard to secure another three points in this action-packed encounter at The Moss. Matos De Sousa, Calum Mc Laughlin (2), Darren Coyle and Robert Donnell got the goals to keep the reds well placed near the league leaders. Both teams started well but it was the home side who got the opener when Dylan O’ Brien found Matos De Sousa who made no mistake. Castlefin battled well but Drumoghill made it two through local boy Calum Mc Laughlin when he was sent clear. There were a few injuries to the home side early on. Castlefin started to gain-back control and got back into the game on 30 minutes with a well worked goal down the left wing. It was quickly crossed in to be met by Kennedy and he made it 2-1. They kept the pressure on and got their rewards within 10 minutes they found themselves 3 2 in front when Kennedy (again) and Mathewson found the net for the visitors. Drumoghill came out fighting at the start of the second half and it was end to end football from both sides. Next goal was going to be crucial and it was the home side who got it when great work from young Mc Laughlin again coming in from the right-hand side and turned a few defenders and rattled the back of the Castlefin net. Game was on and both battled well to get the winner but it was far from finished. Castlefin got the break when the attack down the right side the forward turned into the box as was judged to be fouled by the referee. Penalty kick was awarded and up stood Kennedy again who made no mistake to complete his hat-trick and it was advantage Castlefin. Game was on a knife edge and Drumoghill kept fighting and got their reward on 80 minutes with the defender being judged to foul Mc Laughlin in the box. Up stepped Robbie Donnell and made no mistake with the penalty, 4-4 and just less than 10 minutes to play. It was a nervy last few minutes and looked to be finishing in a share of the points but it was not to be. The winner came from young Mc Daid when the ball broke in midfield and was poked on by Friel it was Keaton Mc Daid was fastest to react and followed through and finished well to claim the win for the home side. It was a great entertaining game from both sides and from a spectacular display of goals. Best for Drumoghill were the three 16- year olds Oisin Higgins, Calum Mc Laughlin and Keaton Mc Daid. Team performance from Castlefin.
Dowds with the equaliser
Lagan Harps Reserves…………2
Milford United Reserves…….2
The points were shared in a well contested game in Orchard Park. The first twenty-five minutes was mainly fought in the midfield with no real shots on goal. Lagan took the lead on twenty-seven minutes when Ross Hamlyn dummied a ball and Jack Duncan ran through to score. Drew Dowds then had a good run as Lagan broke from a corner but Declan Jordan blocked his shot out for a corner. Kyle Black was showing some nice touches in midfield for Milford. Dagm O’Connell shot just over from Milford as halftime approached. Milford turned the game around early in the second half. Kyle Black got on the end of a cross to volley the equaliser on fifty-two minutes. Five minutes later Lagan gave the ball away after a short kick out and Lee Burke fired home from the edge of the area. Kai Brown then did well to stop them increasing their lead when he managed to push away a close in effort from Shay Gibbons. Lagan equalised on sixty-eight minutes when Drew Dowds headed in a long free from Glenn Gallagher. Drew then forced Declan Jordan into a good save. Milford almost won it in the final minute when Eoin O’ Donnell was just wide with a shot from the edge of the area.

Hat-trick for Blake
Glenea United……………….5
St. Catherine’s……………..3
In perfect conditions for football, St Catherine’s were the visitors to PCC
Falcarragh. The away side were first to settle and took an early lead after 10 minutes when a ball floated into the box was headed in by Josh Cunningham. Glenea equalised shortly after straight from a corner. Cathal Mc Geever’s delivery beat everyone and ended up in the back of the net. The goal settled Glenea and in the 22nd minute Cathal Mc Geever picked the ball up in his own half and floated a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Blake Mc Garvey. Blake didn’t even have to break stride and only had to guide the ball past the Catherines’ keeper. Glenea got their third just before half time when another dangerous delivery from Cathal Mc Geever was bundled over the line by Darren Mc Geever. Glenea started the second half strong and wasted no time adding to the goal tally when Blake Mc Garvey finished well after a defensive mix-up. Catherine’s weren’t ready to give up just yet and responded immediately with a goal of their own from Dillon Doherty. Glenea got their fifth in the 90th minute and Blake Mc Garvey completed his hat-trick. Catherine’s again responded through Calum Cassidy but time was up for any more action giving the
home-side a 5-3 victory and a valuable three points. Best for Glenea were Cathal Mc
Geever and Blake Mc Garvey. Referee: Mick Lagan

Oliver salvages Swilly a point
Milford United………………. 2
Swilly Rovers…………………..2
A share of the spoils was the outcome of this local Derby reversed to Swilly Park . Swilly went into the game minus several regulars from their normal starting line-up. It was 0-0 at half time in a hard-fought contest. Joey Cullen with a fine effort and Kyle Black against his former club had Milford in command at the beginning of the second half. Swilly continued to battle with midfielder Matthew Mc Kinnon pulling the strings and bossing the midfield sector. Michael Kerr with a coolly placed penalty gave Swilly hope. Corey Oliver then scored with a wonderful strike after eighty 80 minutes. There were no further goals with the draw fair in the end . Referee: Damien Mc Fadden

League leaders too strong
Drumkeen United…………….. 2
Drumoghill FC…………………4
Drumkeen welcomed League leaders Drumoghill to a cold St Patrick’s Park on Sunday afternoon. The visitors made the better start in this game and Liam O’ Donnell had them ahead with a good finish after seven minutes. They nearly added a second when a great effort by Dean Murray was well blocked by Drumkeen defender Mickey Black and the ball went wide for a Drumoghill corner. Unfortunately for the home team Liam O’ Donnell was there again to head in the resultant corner so they found themselves two goals behind with just fifteen minutes on the clock. Things could have been much worse in the first half as Drumkeen Goalkeeper Luke Russell made good saves from Ben Cassidy and Dean Murray. At half time it was hard to see a way back for the home team as they had not really troubled the Drumoghill defence in the first half. The Drumkeen comeback seemed even more unlikely when Ben Cassidy added a third for Drumoghill after a couple of minutes of the second half. Drumkeen then brought on Niall Sweeney and his introduction made a big difference to the home team. Sweeney was only on the pitch a couple of minutes when he pulled a goal back as a good ball through the middle found him and he finished well past Drumoghill Keeper Crampsie. When Drumkeen managed to get the ball to Sweeney he was causing Drumoghill problems with his strong runs. Drumkeen were now much improved and were causing more difficulties for Drumoghill than they did in the first half.
Drumkeen were getting a bit of joy with a high ball down the middle which they tried a few times and it was that method that presented them with their next opportunity. A long kick from Luke Russell was headed on to Niall Sweeney and as he was running through on goal when he was brought down in the penalty area and a Penalty was awarded. Drumkeen Captain Niall Howley stepped up and calmly dispatched the penalty. There were still about twenty-five minutes left so plenty of time for an equaliser. Niall Sweeney also had another well struck effort that went over the bar. After Drumkeen enjoyed a good spell for a while in the second-half, Drumoghill were gradually getting back in the game again and Dean Murray had an effort for them which went over the bar. If the score had remained the same it could have been interesting as the clock ticked down with just a goal between them.
It was not to be though as Drumoghill added a Fourth goal after 82 minutes which probably end any hope of Drumkeen getting something from the game .
The goal came after Dean Murray was fouled out on the left-hand side his free kick into the box was touched home by Dylan Mc Elhinney.
There were still eight minutes left but it was now a mountain to climb for the home team.
That was the end of the scoring as the clock ticked down and Referee Diego Rainey blew the final whistle to end the game. This was a good enough contest to watch especially in the second half as after an indifferent Drumkeen made a game of it and caused Drumoghill a few problems.
Cranford too strong
Dunkineely Celtic…………………… 0
Cranford United……………………..4
Darragh Morrison, Danny McBride, Philip Buchanan, and Shane Coll scored for Cranford in this win.

Whitestrand’s fast start continued when Caolan Ward crossed and Michael Sweeney made no mistake. Whitestrand kept the pressure on and the game went in 2-0 at half time. Whitestrand continued the pressure and Paddy Sheridan made it 3-0. Deele pulled one back when they scrambled the ball over the line. Whitestrand hit back when Kai Corcoran finished an excellent team move. The final goal came and Cormac Dunleavy put it on a plate for Kai Corcoran who made no mistake and the game ended 5-1. Best for Whitestrand was Kai Corcoran and Jack Dunleavy
Ulster Junior Cup
No joy for Ballybofey
Ballybofey United………………2
Buncrana Hearts……………….3
Ballybofey United hosted Buncrana Hearts from the Inishowen Football League in the Ulster Junior Cup on Sunday at Dreenan. The home-side were good value for their 2-0 Half-Time lead as they were a decent match for their former USL opponents over the opening piece. Daithi Mc Mahon got both of the Ballybofey goals while Sean Mc Gowan was influential in the proceedings. The Second-Half was somewhat different as the Buncrana based outfit showed their experience of life among the higher-ranks. A penalty gave them a launchpad to work from in the early exchanges after the break. By the 75th minute-mark they were level. Neither side would have fancied extra-time or penalties and both played to win it in regulation. That bit of additional knowhow stood to the Cranasiders as time ran out and they found a winning goal in the last minute of the game. Well done to both sides for providing an enjoyable Cup Match.
Cockhill advance to next round
Keadue Rovers……………….0
Cockhill Celtic………………..3
Cockhill Celtic advanced to the quarter finals of the Ulster Junior Cup with this win over a dogged Keadue Rovers outfit at a bitterly cold Central Park on Sunday afternoon.
Keadue started the brighter and launched some good balls into the opposition box with good pace and endeavour. The visitors took the lead though in the 3rd minute, against the run of play. A cross from the left-hand side was met by a header at the near post from Luke Rudden. Despite this, Keadue played well and battled gamely in midfield with big pace and effort aplenty. Cockhill were content to absorb the pressure and hit on the break, as was often the case throughout the game. They went close again on fourteen minutes when Shane Graham did well with a point blank save. On twenty minutes, Keadue were unlucky not to be level when a fine ball played in by Peter McGee was met by Paddy Bonner but he couldn’t get the ball down just in time and the ball was gathered by Harry Doherty. On twenty-three minutes, the visitors were awarded what appeared an innocuous penalty from a corner set piece but Keadue got a reprieve when Lee McColgan’s effort was hit over the crossbar. However, Cockhill were not long in getting their 2nd goal after twenty-five minutes, when Corey McBride was through on a defensive lapse and rounded Shane Graham for 2-0. Michael Greene and Aidan Brennan had half chances for Keadue soon after that and could be certainly considered unlucky not to have got at least a goal back. Cockhill again could’ve added to their tally as they broke once again at great speed. Jay Bradley and Conor Graham were influential in the visitor’s midfield and it was a good, open first half despite the difficult conditions. Keadue made a sub at the start of the second half but it was Cockhill, with the breeze behind them, who made the better start and on fifty-two minutes, Luke Ruudden was on hand to give Cockhill a 3 – 0 lead. The visitors had further chances through Damien Duffy who shot over on the hour and Conor Graham hit the post on sixty-four minutes. A minute later, sub-Oran Fallon was close with a Keadue effort. The remainder of the game was scrappy, with Keadue battling away very well and started to create a few openings on the edge of the box but just couldn’t get in behind a well marshalled visiting defence. Cockhill advance to the Ulster Cup quarter finals and best for them were Luke Rudden, Conor Graham, Jay Bradley and Peter Doherty, while best for Keadue were Michael Greene, Adam Mc Caffrey and Brian Proctor. Referee : Vincent Mc Laughlin.
