Harps well beaten by Athlone Town

Athlone Town 4-1 Finn Harps

FINN Harps’ good run of form came to a disappointing halt this evening in Lissywollen as they were well beaten by Athlone Town.

Athlone took the lead in the sixth minute when Noah Van Geenan scored and an own goal saw them double their lead.

BJ Banda pulled a goal back for Finn Harps in the 25th minute but they conceded twice more before the break with Valerii Dolia bagging a brace.

Harps were 4-1 down at half-time and while Athlone’s Michael Peprah was sent off in the second half, the Ballybofey men couldn’t pull a goal back.

The visitors also ended the game with ten players after Daniel Stokoe received a straight red card for a bad tackle.

Dave Rogers’s men are back in action on Friday night when they host Treaty United, and improvement will be needed.
