Harps undone by Keena hat-trick

Sligo Rovers 3-1 Finn Harps

FINN Harps were defeated by Sligo Rovers in tonight’s North West derby as Aidan Keena scored an excellent hat-trick at the Showgrounds.

Sligo took the lead in the 13th minute when Keena fired a super shot to the net.

Ollie Horgan’s team played reasonably well in the first half but they were punished again in the 42nd minute when Keena scored after good play from Karl O’Sullivan.

Harps’ Dave Webster tried his luck with a volley early in the second half but Richard Brush made a comfortable save, and then Keena grabbed his third goal in the 48th minute with a fine finish after the visiting defence was caught out.

Filip Mihaljevic was twice denied by Brush before Luke Rudden pulled a goal back in the 87th minute with a low drive.

That was as good as it got for the Ballybofey men and they are back in action on Friday evening when they take on Shelbourne at Tolka Park.
