Harps squander two-goal lead and draw with Cobh

Finn Harps 2-2 Cobh Ramblers

Finn Harps squandered a two-goal advantage as they drew with Cobh Ramblers in Finn Park tonight.

Dave Rogers’s men got off to a great start with a goal in the first minute from Seamás Keogh.

They doubled that advantage 11 minutes later when Filip Da Silva fired to the net.

Harps were much the better team in the first half, playing with energy and intent, and they deserved their 2-0 lead at the break.

Cobh were much improved in the second half and they won a penalty in the 50th minute but Jack Doherty blazed over.

That didn’t deter Doherty and he bagged two goals in the space of 16 minutes to level proceedings.

Harps finished the game with ten men after Sean O’Donnell was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Charlie Lyons.

Neither side could find a winner and they had to settle for a share of the spoils.
