FINN Harps are looking to spoil the title party as they travel down to Turner’s Cross to take on the league winners Cork City this Friday night.
City won their third First Division title two weeks ago after beating UCD 1-0 at the Belfield Bowl.
Harps boss Darren Murphy will hope to get something from this game as his side are pushing for the promotion play-offs. City manager Tim Clancy would expect his side to continue their good form and sweep Harps aside swiftly.
A win would put Harps in a very nice position to get into the play-offs. They’re currently sitting sixth, two points behind Athlone Town in fifth who are in very poor form.
Harps have won their last three games, scoring seven goals and only conceding one.
Cork haven’t lost in 13 games in the league, since they were beaten by Athlone in May.
Friday’s game will be the fifth time the sides have met this season. Four in the league and one in the cup, with The Rebels winning three and drawing one so far.
Harps will be hoping for a positive result from this one however they haven’t defeated Cork since a 1-0 win at Finn Park in October 2010.
