Harps play out stalemate with Longford

Longford Town 0-0 Finn Harps

Finn Harps had the better of the chances against Longford Town at Bishopsgate tonight, but had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Longford went close to scoring early on, but Harps were much the better team in the final twenty minutes of the first half.

Sean Boyd had three chances to score but couldn’t find the net, while Tony McNamee also squandered a good opportunity.

Harps had the better of the opportunities in the second half with Ethan Boyle going close twice, while Ryan Shanley also fired a shot over the bar.

Ollie Horgan’s side kept looking for the winner but the Longford defence held strong in the closing exchanges, and the match ended in a draw.

Harps are back in action on Friday evening when they host St Patrick’s Athletic at 5.45pm.
