Finn Harps 1-2 Sligo Rovers
Finn Harps fell to their second defeat of the season as Sligo claimed the North West derby bragging rights tonight in Ballybofey.
Both sides had good chances to score, before Sligo took the lead in the 29th minute through Romeo Parkes, and they held that advantage at the half-time whistle.
Harps needed a bright start to the second half, but it was Sligo who doubled their lead in the 48th minute when Kris Twardek found the net.
It wasn’t looking good for the home side at that juncture, but they pulled a goal back in the 56th minute when Danny O’Reilly headed home.
However, they couldn’t build on that and Ollie Horgan’s men lacked creativity in the closing 30 minutes of the match, and Sligo deservedly claimed the spoils.
Harps will return to action on Monday night when they face Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght.
