Finn Harps 0-2 St Patrick’s Athletic
Finn Harps fell to their second defeat of the season as St Patrick’s Athletic proved too strong this evening at Finn Park.
Both sides had chances to score early on but it was Pat’s who broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when Billy King sent a powerful shot to the net.
The Inchicore men controlled the play for the rest of the half and were good value for their 1-0 lead at the break.
Pat’s doubled their advantage in the 61st minute when Matty Smith headed home after fine play from Ronan Coughlan.
Ollie Horgan urged his side to keep believing but Pat’s were strong defensively throughout.
Harps had to settle for defeat and are back in action next Friday against Shamrock Rovers.
