Finn Harps 0-1 Shamrock Rovers
A goal in first half injury-time from Rory Gaffney saw league leaders Shamrock Rovers collect all three points against Finn Harps in Ballybofey tonight.
Harps sat very deep at times in the first half, and they endured a couple of scares.
It looked like they would hold out until half-time but Rory Gaffney had other ideas and he fired a low shot into the bottom corner in the 46th minute.
Rovers led 1-0 at the break and they had chances to double their lead after the restart, but didn’t take them.
Harps were threatening from long throws, but didn’t work the visiting goalkeeper Alan Mannus.
Rovers stood strong in the closing exchanges to run out deserved victors.
