There wasn’t much between the sides in the first half, and Ollie Horgan’s Harps had the best opportunity but Eddie Dsane missed an open net from the edge of the box.

The sides were deadlocked at the break, but Dundalk hit the front when Brian Gartland headed in a corner in the 66th minute.

Damien McNulty did have a chance late on but headed wide, and Harps were fortunate not to concede late on when Ciaran Gallagher saved well from Michael Duffy. However, Jamie McGrath did double Dundalk’s advantage with the last kick of the game.

Harps had to settle for defeat, and with just three league games left, they need to get a result against Derry City on Friday night if they are going to have a chance of staying in the top flight.
