Harps lose ground in play-off race with draw in Kerry

Kerry 1 Finn Harps 1

Sean McGrath’s equaliser in the final ten minutes meant that the spoils were shared between Finn Harps and Kerry in Mounthawk Park.

The visitors enjoyed the better of the chances in the first half with Success Edogun going close twice, while Sean Patton also had a good effort and the best Kerry chance came as Ethan Kos headed just over after a corner which left it scoreless at the break.

Kerry were livelier in the second half and another corner was met by Oran Crowe but Patton cleared it off the line.

The Harps took the lead as Edogun and Patton combined to find Patrick Ferry racing through and his first time shot found the bottom corner.

But as we entered the final ten minutes, Nathan Gleeson’s effort was parried by Oisin Cooney to Sean McGrath, the Kerry man fired in to level the game as the points were shared.
