Harps hold on for draw against Dundalk

Finn Harps 1-1 Dundalk

Finn Harps and Dundalk played out an entertaining draw at Finn Park this evening.

Harps started well and were rewarded in the 19th minute when Barry McNamee fired a brilliant shot into the top corner.

Karl O’Sullivan (Harps) and Michael Duffy (Dundalk) both went close for their respective teams, but the Ballybofey men were still one to the good at half-time.

Dundalk came out strongly after the restart and Ole Erik Midtskogen headed in an equaliser in the 49th minute.

The visitors had the better of the chances as the second half progressed and Mark Anthony McGinley saved superbly from Midtskogen and Duffy.

Ethan Boyle made an important block from Ryan O’Kane and Harps somehow survived a goalmouth scramble in the 90th minute.

McGinley tipped a Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe free-kick onto the crossbar at the death and Harps were thrilled to get a share of the spoils in the end. They are back in acton next Friday against Drogheda United.
