Finn Harps fell to an opening day defeat against Kerry in Mounthawk Park.

Darren Murphy’s men went a goal behind in a game where chances were at a premium as Joe Adams opened the scoring on 25 minutes.

Niall Brookwell doubled the lead for the home side on 66 minutes but they went down to 10 men as Adams was given a straight red for a reckless challenge three minutes later.

But Kerry held on for a first win of the campaign.
