Those who gathered for 10am Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny on Saturday morning might not have been expecting to be blessed by the performance of the massed choirs of the Cathedral who were there on a very special day, under the direction of Frank Breslin.
Among the congregation was Letterkenny man Dan McTeague, his wife Bernie, and members of the McTeague family, who were gathered on the occasion of Dan’s 90th birthday.
As Paddy Walsh writes in today’s edition of the Donegal News, Dan was invited to join the choir for the final offering: ‘A Time for all Good Things’.
After Mass it was off to the McTeague family home in Glencar for the birthday celebrations.
Over a wonderful singing career, Dan McTeague has delighted audiences and church congregations, not just here in Donegal, but as Paddy tells us in today’s edition, as far away as the United States.
