THE Regional Cultural Centre Letterkenny has a busy programme of film screenings and music over the Halloween Weekend.
The centre continues its autumn music programme with a great country and bluegrass concert by rising Americana stars Furnace Mountain from Virginia on Saturday, November 1.
The RCC is also presenting two Halloween themed film screenings that weekend. There is a family screening of Hocus Pocus on Thursday, October 30th at 6.30pm.

Distorted Perspectives presents a screening of the 1922 classic film Nosferatu accompanied by a live music soundtrack provided by a host of leading local musicians and mentalists at the RCC on Friday, October 31.
The film screening and live music commence at 8pm, it is followed by DJ Dano Horror Dance Party (a Live AV Set) and is suitable only for over 18s.
Furnace Mountain
Furnace Mountain are set to delight Donegal audiences with their distinctive take on rootsy Americana, described by Americana UK as ‘blisteringly good roots music’, when they play the Regional Cultural Centre on Saturday November 1st as part of a Music Network Irish tour.
This highly regarded four-piece draw their repertoire from the old-time, bluegrass and folk ballad tradition. The band members all grew up on or near the mountain in Virginia bearing the same name as the group.
At times lively and raucous, at times poignant and poetic, Furnace Mountain have won critical acclaim for their fresh, authentic sound.
Heart-worn and effortlessly sweet vocal harmonies led by the gorgeous voice of Aimee Curl interweave with brilliant instrumentation to interpret traditional country and bluegrass songs alongside new original compositions.
With mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, bass and beautiful vocal harmonies, the group breathe new life into old-time and bluegrass tunes.
They have received standing ovations at folk and bluegrass festivals across the globe, gracing stages from the Yangtze River in China to the banks of the Shenandoah River, where they are the host band of the world famous Watermelon Park Festival each year.
