Gweedore look to make Carrickboyle a fortress

By Matthew Foley

GWEEDORE United will look to move into joint second place in the Donegal Physiotherapy & Performance Centre D2 if they can get a victory against Whitestrand United on Sunday afternoon.

Brian Gallagher’s side have had a strong start to the season and will look to build on their performances as we enter the second half of the league campaign.

Cranford top the table and are 12 points clear of second place Lagan Harps, but just three points separate second and fifth place. Speaking about the competitiveness of the division, Gallagher said it was a tough competition.

“There are about four or five teams that can get promoted. Besides Cranford who look like they have first place sealed, ourselves, Drumoghill, Lagan Harps and Ballybofey all have a chance of getting second place, it is going to be a battle in the second half of the season.”
