Gritters in action tonight as temperatures set to drop

DONEGAL County Council’s gritters will be in action this evening as Met Éireann forecasts freezing temperatures.

The weather authority is warning that temperatures could get down as low as -1 tonight. And the cold weather looks set to continue with “bright crisp days and frosty nights” predicted for the bank holiday weekend.

A Met Éireann spokesperson said, “The nights will be quite chilly, temperatures dipping below zero and widespread frosts with risk of icy patches.”
