Grieving family launch fundraiser in aid of Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust

THE grieving family of an Ardara woman who passed away suddenly in New York earlier this year have launched a fundraiser to give back for the kindness and support they received during their time of loss.

Jenna Shovlin, late of The Rock, Narin passed away unexpectedly in Manhattan on Saturday, March 8.

Driven by a strong belief in the power of paying it forward, Ms Shovlin’s friend, Maggie Engelhardt set up the fundraiser on behalf of her family.

The family aims to raise vital funds for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, an Irish charity dedicated to easing the financial burden experinced by bereaved families while repatriating the body of a loved one who has died abroad.

Their hope is to help support the next family in need of the charity’s invaluable services.

Following Jenna’s Month’s Mind Mass last Saturday, the Shovlin family shared this heartfelt message of gratitude.

“Words cannot adequately express our appreciation to all those who attended Jenna’s wake and funeral and to all those who joined us via webcam from around the world.

“To those who travelled long distances, sent Mass cards, letters of sympathy, messages of condolence, floral tributes, and generous donations to our chosen charities, please know that your kindness has helped make the sudden loss of our beloved Jenna more bearable.

“Your prayers and support during this difficult time will never be forgotten.

“As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere and heartfelt appreciation.”
