Green light for Killylastin housing development

THE green light has been given for a housing development in Letterkenny.

The proposed plans comprised six blocks of two-bedroom terrace houses, one block of three-bedroom terraced houses and two blocks of terraced houses each incorporating four three-bedroom houses and two one bedroom duplex units.

Proposals also included the development of an internal access roadway, pedestrian footpaths, open space and boundary treatments as well as connection to all main services and associated site development works.

Donegal County Council has granted permission for the development with 27 conditions attached, which include that all recommendations detailed in the Road Safety Audit Stage one and two are adhered to.

The applicant has also been asked to ensure that all site development works comply with Recommendations for Site Development Works for Housing Areas in Donegal (2007).

Prior to the first occupation of any dwelling house within the scheme, all infrastructure including, but not confined to, service connections to existing utility networks, neighbourhood facilities, open space provision, cycleways, footpaths and public lighting, necessary to support the delivery of services and quality of life to the new residential development and its neighbourhood shall be complete.

A further condition is that the construction of the development shall be managed in accordance with a Construction Management Plan, to be submitted to, and agreed in writing, with the Planning Authority prior to commencement of development.

A B.S. 750 round threaded outlet fire hydrant on a 100mm minimum diameter watermain must be located within 50m of the proposed development along a verge of surfaced roadway.
