THE Termon senior football team have been dealt a blow ahead of the new 2025 season as Jamie Grant has transferred to Ballymun Kickhams.
Grant is a highly-rated defender who played for the Donegal minor and Under 20 teams, while he also had a short stint with the county senior footballers.
Grant played an integral role last season as Termon won the Donegal Intermediate Championship.
He helped to turn their semi-final with Naomh Muire when introduced at half-time and then marked Aaron Doherty in the final against Naomh Columba.
He also kicked two points against Derrylaughan from wing-back in the Ulster Intermediate Championship.
Grant is living in the capital and has now decided to link up with Ballymun, who are one of the top clubs in Dublin.
They boast a number of high quality players in their ranks including Dean Rock, James McCarthy, Evan Comerford and John and Paddy Small.
Meanwhile, Killybegs man Evan Broderick, who was part of the Donegal senior panel in 2024 has moved down under and will play for St Finbarr’s, as will Ciaran Lynch, who was a strong defender for Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn over the last decade.
Stephen O’Brien has also left Gaeil Leitir Ceanainn to join Nobber in Meath, while James Carr has transferred out of the Pairc na nGael club to link up with Na Gaeil Óga in Dublin.
Shane Boyce, who was a big part of Downings’ senior team’s Junior and Intermediate success since the turn of the decade, is now living in Australia and has switched his allegiances to Garryowen.
Shane McTeague, also from Downings, will represent the Naomh Mairtin club in Louth going forward.
Na Rossa have lost a key man with John McDyre set to ply his trade with North London Shamrocks.
Conor Boyle helped Gaoth Dobhair to minor and Under 21 club success when he was younger and he has relocated to Oz and will play with Young Irelands.
Caolan Toye, who was a highly-rated young player with St Michael’s, has moved to Kerry and will play with Listowel Emmets this year.
Former Donegal minor player Oisin Purdy has transferred from St Eunan’s to the Erin’s Isle club in Dublin.
There is good news for Naomh Conaill as Kieran Gallagher has returned home from Canada.
Gallagher was a vital player for the Davy Brennan Memorial Park men before emigrating, and he can play at midfield or full-forward.
Bundoran are also set to carry a bigger attacking threat in 2025 as Gary Clancy has returned to the seaside club after a spell with neighbouring club, Melvin Gaels in Leitrim.
