ST MARY’S, Convoy goalkeeper Emmet Doherty feels a strong culture within their group has helped to cope with the loss of two vital forwards.
Joe McGill and Paddy Dolan were their main two attackers in recent years and both headed away to London at the end of last season.
That could have severely hampered the team, but they earned promotion from Division 3 this season and are now eyeing up a spot in the Junior ‘A’ Championship Final.
St Mary’s have strong numbers at training, and that has helped to keep standards high, and the players have spread the load this season and took on more responsibility.
