LETTERKENNY Community Centre has been given the go-ahead for a development at the Pearse Road facility.
Applicant Letterkenny Community Centre Ltd lodged plans in October of this year for permission for the construction of a new community/committee room, new changing room facilities and connection to existing services and all associated site works.
Planning permission has been granted subject to 17 conditions. These include that the construction of the development shall be managed in accordance with a Construction Management Plan, which shall be submitted to, and agreed in writing with, the Planning Authority prior to commencement of development.
This plan shall provide for a number of factors including the management of traffic flows on the public road during on-site construction works, and restorative details for any construction works including all works abutting the public footpath, and the location of all site/office buildings and parking accommodation for construction/staff vehicles.
To preserve amenities in the area, prior to commencement of the development a planting scheme shall be forwarded to the Planning Authority illustrating proposed landscaping along the verge to front of site for written approval of said scheme. The development shall thereafter proceed in accordance with the agreed planting scheme.
On-site construction works shall be between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 3pm on Saturday.
No works are permitted to be carried out on Sundays or on Bank Holidays.
Signage shall be in the Irish language only, or if bilingual signage is proposed, then the Irish language shall be first and equal to or greater than the area, size and prominence of other languages.
No signs, symbols or other means of advertisement shall be erected or posted on the site without prior written agreement of the Planning Authority.
