A POPULAR Letterkenny filling station has been given the green light for a major development including a drive thru.
Service Station on the Port Road is to be undergo significant development works including the construction of a single storey extension to provide for a diner with a drive thru facility, kitchen and associated facilities.
Applicant Eddie Tobin, of Tobin’s Service Station, lodged proposals with Donegal County Council in July last year. The submission also included the change of use from a previously granted play school to shop store and access corridor to upper floors, material alterations internally to reconfigure the shop floor area to provide for sanitary and store accommodation.
The reconfiguration of car parking, installation of a pumping station, connection to existing public sewage system, and all associated site works were also contained in the proposed development.
Donegal County Council has granted permission subject to eight conditions including that a Stage 3 Safety Audit must be undertaken prior to the commencement of development. All findings and recommendations of the audit must be implemented in full accordance with the requirements of, and the written satisfaction of, the Executive Engineer (Roads) and Executive Engineer (Road design) prior to the first use of Diner herein permitted. This is to ensure the interests of public safety and to cater for the orderly development of the area.
