DONEGAL County Council has given the go-ahead for the construction of a funeral home in Letterkenny.
Applicant Michael Morning has been granted permission for the development of the funeral home, car park and all ancillary works with connection to existing services in Carnamuggagh.
The permission is subject to 13 conditions, which include a number of stipulations in the interests of traffic safety.
These include that all vehicles/machinery associated with construction works to development permitted shall be contained within the site, and adequate provision shall be made for the same.
In the event that vehicles/machinery associated with construction works park on the public road thereto, the Planning Authority or Roads Authority shall be empowered to cease all works on site.
Works shall not recommence without prior written agreement of the Planning Authority.
Hours of construction shall be between 8am and 6pm between Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 3pm on Saturdays.
Construction works are not permitted on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
In order to preserve the amenities of the area, a further condition is that a hedgerow of semi-mature species native to the area shall be planted along the south eastern boundary of the site, which shall be planted within the first planting season following the date of the final grant of permission.
Effluent treatment shall be by means of connection of the public sewer, as per the interests of orderly development and public health.
