Go-ahead for Killylastin housing development

THE green light has been given for a housing development in Killylastin, Letterkenny.

Donegal County Council has granted planning permission to applicant Property Hold Limited for the development, which comprises 21 dwellings in all, including the completion of five unfinished dwelling houses.

The applicant lodged plans in May of this year seeking planning permission for the erection of 16 additional dwelling houses and the completion of five unfinished dwellings.

The proposed development also sought connection to all existing services and all associated ancillary site development works.

Donegal County Council has granted planning permission, subject to 22 conditions.

Prior to commencement of the development, the applicant shall agree in writing with the Planning Authority the implementation of a Traffic and Construction Management Plan, during construction works, which provides for a range of things including the phasing of construction works, proper location for the disposal of site/construction waste materials and the management of traffic flows.

Another condition is that the dwellings subject to the permission are to used as permanent homes only, and not for the purpose of holiday homes.

All sound trees, shrubs and hedgerows shall be retained shall be retained as herein otherwise required and any tree or shrub species subsequently dying shall be replaced.

Prior to the first occupation of any dwelling houses permitted, the entire estate service road and all paved areas shall be drained by the provision of an adequate number of gullies arranged to avoid ponding.

Upon completion of the development and prior to the first occupation of the dwelling houses all roads, footpaths, public lighting, water supply and foul sewer serving the development shall be finished in accordance with ‘Recommendations for Site Development Works for Housing Areas by the Department of Environment and Local Government, November 1989.

On site construction works will be between the hours of 8am and 6pm between Monday to Friday and 8.30am and 3pm on Saturday, excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays.
